A-6 Patricia "Pat" Eileen Frank, age 81, of Wickenburg, entered into eternal rest in the early morning hours of Jan. 26, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Schenectady, New York, Patricia graduated from the Venetian Institute in 1959. Patricia then entered a three-year nursing program at the Albany Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Albany, New York. She graduated with an award for Outstanding Student Nurse, and first runner- up for New York State. Soon after Patricia met her former late husband Ronald L. Frank of Buffalo. Patricia raised three children before returning to school, obtaining both a BA and an MA in history from State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo. Patricia later worked on her Doctorate of Philosophy with SUNY/Buffalo, focusing on medical ethics, Eastern philosophy, Philosophy of Mind and feminist philosophy. Patricia had an eclectic career, working at hospitals for training and supervision of nursing staff, substitute teaching at local high schools, panel member of Buffalo Mercy Hospital Medical Ethics Committee, developed community outreach for the Osteoporosis Center of Western New York, adjunct professor for philosophy in Florida, reiki master, conundrum specialist and retired from nursing in Colorado in 2015. Patricia loved to travel to visit sunny places, friends and family. She loved animals, and took in squirrels, raccoons, dogs and cats. She was a philanthropist giving to many organizations over the years. Spent many years sailing, photographing birds, bird watching, playing tennis, running, hiking and cycling. Patricia made friends easily and was a vocal, active member of Alcoholics Anonymous since 1992. Feb. 19, 2023 would be her 31st celebration. Her spiritual journey blended with her medical background led her to become a certified Reiki Master and honing skills as a medical intuitive. Pat is survived by her three children, and one grandson that includes Daniel Frank, his wife Angie Grisales, and their son, beloved Mateo Sebastian of Anchorage; Dr. Scott Frank and his wife Jana of Phoenix, Julie Frank and her partner Orion Lukasik of Durango, Colo. Pat found love again in her 80s, and is survived by her fiance Arnold Alderman also of Wickenburg. Arnold was a daily source of support for Patricia and they were very close. A Celebration of Life is being planned in Wickenburg for Feb. 19, 2023. Time and location to be determined. Likewise, a gathering in Durango will be held at a future day and time. The family would like to thank the dedicated staff at Lake Pleasant Care in Peoria for their amazing care of Patricia. As well as the numerous home health providers who cared for her.
