| Wickenburg Sun (Wickenburg, Arizona) Friday, February 9, 1951, p. 1 Funeral Services For Mrs. Charles Shontz, Sr. Were Held Thursday In The Wickenburg Chapel with burial following in the Wickenburg cemetery. The well known long- time resident of the town passed away Tuesday morning at her home at 89 South Washington Street. The 72-year-old woman had been bedfast for the past ten years. In Arizona Since 1911 Mrs. Shontz, who was born in Shippenville, Pa., and Mr. Shontz were married in Youngstown, O., February 3, 1897, and observed their 54th wedding anniversary last Saturday. They moved to Arizona in 1911 and have lived in Wickenburg since 1915. Leaves Three Children Surviving are the husband, Charles Shontz, Sr., of Wickenburg,; a daughter , Mrs. Bert Matchette of Wickenburg; and two sons, Charles Jr., of Parker and Harold of Blythe. Also surviving are five grandchildren and one great grandson. |
