The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona March 29, 2008 Flora Ferrara, 91, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, went to be with her loving Father on March 24, 2008. Flora (Flo) was born in Boston, Massachusetts on May 6, 1916. Flo and her family moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1956, but she never lost her Boston accent or the love of her birthplace. "Nonnie," as she was affectionately known by her grandchildren and many others, will be greatly missed. She is survived by her children Nancy (Bill) Vance, Celene (Keith) Hillsberry, Adele (Barry) Goldstin, grandchildren Carlee (Ken) Byfield, Erin (Robert) Snyder, Travis (Gretchen) O'Hair, Nicole O'Hair, Jeffrey and Matthew Goldstin and great-grandchildren Kaylee Byfield, Logan Snyder and Carston and Camden O'Hair. A funeral service was held Monday, March 31, at Messinger Mortuary, 7601 E. Indian School Rd., Scottsdale followed by private interment at Paradise Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Hospice of the Valley 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014. Submitted as part of the Derek Shields Eagle Scout Project 2009.
