Weekly Arizona Miner (Prescott, Arizona) Saturday, August 22, 1868, p. 3 Death of John D. Keating--Most of our citizens recollect the good-natured, whole-souled, musically-inspired Johnny Keating, formerly of the California Volunteers, and who was stationed here in '65 and '6, and we know that they will grieve to learn that he departed this life at Oroville, Butte county, California, July 28th, 1868. He was an old and esteemed citizen of Butte county, and his old-time friend, George H. Croette (sic: Crossette), editor of the Record, mournes his departure, and pays a fitting tribute to his memory. Peace to his ashes. |
Note: These obituaries are transcribed as published and are submitted by volunteers who have no connection to the families. They do not write the obituaries and have no further information other than what is posted within the obituaries. We do not do personal research. For this you would have to find a volunteer who does this or hire a professional researcher.
