Rites Saturday For Mrs. Powell, Aguila Pioneer

Funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock Saturday morning, June 25,
at the Aguila Cemetery for Mrs. Lena Powell, a pioneer resident of the
Aguila community who passed away early the morning of June 22 at the
Community Hospital in Prescott.

Mrs. Powell had lived on a ranch near Aguila for more than 40 years,
moving to the ranch in 1912, the year in which Arizona was admitted to
the Union. Two years ago she moved to Phoenix. She was born in
Fayetteville, Ark., 77 years ago and came to Arizona in 1896 to stay
with her aunt and uncle, Mr. & Mrs. Henry Wingfield at Camp Verde.

Ill Two Years
Mrs. Powell had been in ill health for the past two years. She was in
the Prescott hospital 11 days, having been taken there when she became
seriously ill while on a trip to Prescott.

Rev. Bill Barker of the First Baptist Church of Wickenburg will conduct
the funeral services Saturday.

Survivors
Surviving are the husband, V. A. Powell; a son, A. R. Powell and
daughter, Julia Powell; also a grandson, Leon Powell and two great
grandsons. Two surviving brothers, Jim and O. Randolph live in
Coffeeville, Kan.
