Wickenburg Sun (Wickenburg, Arizona) Friday, March 20, 1959, p. 1 Jack Hamilton Funeral Monday Funeral services were conducted in St. Anthony's Catholic Church Monday morning by the Rev. D. F. O'Sullivan for Jack Hamilton, prominent Morristown resident who died in Community Hospital Friday of last week after a long illness. Burial was in Wickenburg Cemetery. Mr. Hamilton was the Santa Fe station agent in Morristown from 1920 until his retirement in 1953. During that time he became the personal friend of many men and women of prominence as they depended upon him for transportation from the Castle Hot Springs Hotel to their homes all over the nation. In the early days some guests arrived in private railroad cars and left them on a siding at Morristown for Mr. Hamilton to watch for them. Mr. Hamilton was also active in Morristown at various times as a registrar of voters and as a member of the Democratic Precinct Committee. He was a charter member of the Desert Caballeros and was active in the Wickenburg Rotary Club. He was born in Norman, Okla., 65 years ago. Survivors include the widow; a son, Rupert of Phoenix; and three daughters, Mrs. Jack Walsh of Los Altos, Calif., Mrs. J. H. Miller and Miss Jacque Hamilton, both of Menlo Park, Calif. |
