| August 05, 2007 Michael A. Reed Casa Grande, AZ Winter Visitor MICHAEL A. REED, 65 DAVIS - Michael A. Reed, 65, of Davis, previously of Roscoe and Rockford died Aug. 2, 2007, in his home after a long illness. Born Aug. 13, 1941, in Loves Park, the son of Kenneth and Dorothy (Hahn) Reed. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. Married the former Nancy Pastuska on April 3, 1965. Mike was employed by Preston Trucking Company before retiring in 1996. He was a proud member of Teamster Local 325 for 27 years. He enjoyed his RV travels, NASCAR and "Da Bears." He received most pleasure from all of his grandchildren and was "grandpa" to all kids. Special thanks to Hospice Care of America. Survivors include wife of 42 years, Nancy; mother, Dorothy M. Reed; sons, Charles (Debra) Carter of Cherry Valley, Michael (Lori) Reed of Rock City; daughters, Marie (Steve) Strombeck of Rockton, Audrey (Terry) Thomas of Roscoe; seven grandchildren, Stephen and Owen Strombeck, Kimberly and David Carter, Samantha and Valerie Thomas and Zach Reed; brothers, Ralph (Marge) Reed of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., Kenneth (Barb) Reed of Stillman Valley; sisters, Jean (Dudley) Houston of Loves Park, Marlene (Jim) Crozier of Poplar Grove; uncle, Max Reed; aunts, Pearl Brockhill, Thelma Bach, Helen Izer; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father, Kenneth D. Reed. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 6, in Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Road, with the Rev. Brenda Whitford officiating. Internment in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5 in the funeral home. Rockford Register Star |
