Phillip Alger

Lake Havasu City, Arizona -

Phillip Alger, 89, of Lake Havasu City, passed away surrounded by his
loving family on Sept. 10, 2023. Phil was a beloved husband, father,
grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, friend, and devout Christian. He
was always ready with a smile and a joke.

Phil was born to Leon and Lucile Alger on Feb. 21, 1934, in Columbia
Township, Michigan. He graduated from Jackson High. He has always had a
love for the outdoors and sports. He had a passion for hunting and golf.
He bought many homes on golf courses where he could be found playing a
round or two. Phil was also on a semi pro softball team called The
Turquoise Kings.

Phil married the love of his life Joy Alger on September 5, 1953, in
Jackson, Michigan. Along with his wife Joy, Phil is survived by his
children. son, Mark (Sandy) Alger of Arizona; daughter, Gay (Gene) Weiss
of Colorado; son, Michael (Geri) Alger of Colorado; daughter, Bambi
(Brian) Osgood of Arizona; 14 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
Phil was preceded in death by his father Leon Alger, mother Lucile
Alger, brother Leon Jr. and his son Matthew Alger.

Construction was a big part of Phil's life. While in Michigan, he built
houses during the day and was a foreman for Kelsey Hayes at night. After
he moved with his family to Arizona in 1969, he then started Alger
Construction. He built many custom homes and commercial buildings. He
built Taco Bells, Jack in the Boxes, etc., across the state of Arizona.

Phil was loved by all who knew him and will be deeply missed.
