William (Willie) Mohr

Departed on Dec. 9, 2002 and resided in Cottonwood, Arizona.

William 'Willie' Mohr, 83, of Cottonwood, Arizona died on Monday, December 9, 2002. Willie was born in Marion, South Dakota on April 15, 1919. He was the 13th child of August Mohr and Katherine Brinkman Mohr.

Willie left farming in South Dakota to serve as a welder in the shipyards during World War II. He later became a mechanic in the Army Civil Services and moved to Arizona in 1964. He and his family lived in Flagstaff, Arizona for many years. After his health forced him into medical retirement in 1975, he worked for short periods at the Flagstaff Police Deparatment and Northern Arizona University.

Willie was always generous with his time and energy. He willingly shared his expertise at catching the perfecr bass off his Lake Powell fishing boat or tuning up a friend's car. He filled his retirement years with his woodworking hobby.

Willie is survived by Hilda his wife of sixty years. They moved to Cottonwood in 1990.

They have three children, Richard, Maryville, Tenn.; Sandra, Arlington, Va. and Keith, Cottonwood. Willie; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his twelve siblings.

There will be a visitation on Wednesday, December 11th at the Westcott Funeral Home, 1013 E. Mingus Avenue, Cottonwood, Arizona from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. A memorial service will be held at the Faith Lutheran Church, 2021 E. Fir Street Cottonwood, at 2:00 p.m. also on December 11th.
