| Published by Today's News Herald on Nov. 16, 2023 - Lake Havasu City, Arizona - William Roy Verkamp (Bill) was born April 12, 1940. He died Sept. 27, 2023. Bill is survived by his spouse Diane and children Dan Verkamp, Jackie Morin (Barry), Tracy Burgess (Peter), and Shelly Nguyen (Tony). Bill was blessed with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bill relocated to Parker in 1972 where he helped organize the Buckskin Fire Department. He later was elected chief of the department and after serving 23 years he retired from a job that he loved. After retiring, he and Diane moved to Lake Havasu City and then recently relocated to Montrose, Colorado. Bill was a man of many talents and his favorite hobby was woodworking, which he was a master of. He touched so many lives and will be missed by everyone he knew. |
