Wickenburg Sun (Wickenburg, Arizona) Wednesday, September 6, 2023, p. A-5 Carole Jane Jarvis, 88, passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side on Aug. 27, 2023, at her home. Carole was born in Los Angeles, Calif., to Clyde and Louise Dawson on March 18, 1935. She was a woman of many talents, best known for her captivating cowboy poetry and her love for ranching. Her spirit filled a room and her words painted a vivid picture of the timeless beauty of the American West. Carole married the love of her life, Dan Jarvis, on Dec. 20, 1957, in Wickenburg, and they began building their home place along the Hassayampa north of Wickenburg. Together, they had two daughters, Danna Lee and Laura. Carole and Dan lived in Wickenburg, a town that she lovingly called home, for 33 years. Carole and Dan spent 17 years in Joseph, Oregon, before returning to Forepaugh, Arizona, for the remainder of their lives. The family would like to give a special thanks to Hospice of the West and Wickenburg Community Hospital for the kindness and support through the last days with Carole, as well as family and friends who offered their support. Carole leaves behind her two daughters, Danna Lee Keil and husband Bruce; daughter Laura More; and grandchildren, Luke, Levi, and Seth Jarvis and Markanna Moore. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. A celebration of Carole's life will be held in November.
