| Wickenburg Sun (Wickenburg, Arizona) Wednesday, October 25, 2023, p. A-6 Betty T. Ruoti passed peacefully in her sleep on Oct. 18, 2023, at 97 years old. She was born Dec. 17, 1925, to Adam and Elizabeth Becker in Chicago, Illinois. Betty was a good student, and she and her brother John did competitive dance roller skating as teens. She met her future husband, Ben Ruoti (Sr.), and they dated before he went off to World War II. Upon his return, they married and started a family. Their two children, Ben (Jr.) and Beverly, were the highlight of her life. She was a stay-at-home mother in the children's early years, raising them with old fashioned discipline and high expectations. When the children were older she worked in retail. The family moved to Arizona in 1958 to the brand-new community of Maryvale, where she made many friends. After her husband passed away in 2010, she moved to Wickenburg where her son lived. Betty is survived by her son Ben (Janie); daughter Beverly (Jim Scott); grandchildren Vicki (Rick Ketner) and Eric and John Scott; and great- grandchildren Megan and Colleen. Interment will be at Sunland Mortuary in Sun City. Services will be private and for family only. |
