Published by Today's News Herald on Feb. 14, 2024 - Lake Havasu City, Arizona - Patricia Billick passed peacefully in her sleep Jan. 26, 2024. Faith Patricia Ann Dewart Almond was born on Feb. 27, 1936. That's a whole lot of names for a tiny little woman with a big personality. Pat was born and raised in southern California, mainly San Marcos and Escondido. In 1953, she rode in on a horse and met the love of her life, David Billick. Pat and Dave married in 1954 and moved around a bit while Dave was in the Army. Pat and David had two children, Karen and Brian. She traded in her horses for horsepower, as a family they spent time riding dune buggies and boating. Pat retired from the Escondido school district in 1993. Upon retirement, Pat and Dave packed up their motorhome and hit the road. They traveled far and wide, stopping in all 50 states. They put on 100,000 miles in four years and flew to Hawaii for their 50th wedding anniversary. Pat and Dave landed in Lake Havasu City in 1996. They built a beautiful home and spent many wonderful years boating, jeeping, and making friends. They traveled often to visit friends and family. Pat, the energizer bunny, kept Dave busy and was always on the go. Pat and Dave have the most amazing friends and Pat loved to host a party. She was a great cook and was often found in the kitchen wiping down the counters with a mug of wine in hand. For Pat, there were never enough friends, family, sunshine, wine, or rocks! Pat is survived by David, her husband of 69 years, children Karen Promisco (David), Brian Billick, grandchildren Hailey Lawson (Adam), Matthew Promisco (Julie) and great-grandchildren Caden Lawson, Cooper Lawson, Emelia Urbani, and Isabella Urbani. Our Energizer bunny's batteries wore out, but her memory never will. In lieu of flowers, please bring Dave a rock and a good story. Pat would be happy to know her love is taken care of, and that her rock garden still grows. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. |
