Departed on March 25, 2002 and resided in Cottonwood, Arizona.

Betty Jean 'Bets' Buss, 66, of Cottonwood died March 25. She was born August 14, 1935 in Cottonwood.

Mrs. Buss was graduate of Williams High School in Williams. She enjoyed going to yardsales and collecting clocks. Her family (the Thompsons and Purlymuns) were one on the first settlers in Indian Gardens (Oak Creek Canyon).

She was lovingly referred to as ''Mom'' and ''NaNa'' by her family. Her family writes, ''To the world you might be just one person, but to one person you might just be the world. We will love you forever Mom''.

She leaves her husband, John Henry Buss; sons, John Wesley Buss and Donnie Buss; daughter, Vickie Buss all of Cottonwood; one brother, Herberet Baker, Tulsa, Ok.; a sister, Dorothy Payne, Williams, Ariz.; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Walter Baker and a brother, William Baker.

A private family graveside service was held.

Those who wish may make donations in her memory to the Northern Arizona Hospice, 269 S. Candy Lane, Cottonwood, AZ 86326.
