The Courier (Prescott, Arizona) Monday, February 2, 1987 John A. Jamros, 65, died Saturday, Jan. 31, at his home in Prescott. He was born August 14, 1921, in Lowell, Mass., the son of Martin and Mary Jamros. Mr. Jamros worked for Safeway for 33 years in Phoenix, Wickenburg and Prescott. In Prescott, he managed the meat department at the Park Plaza store. He moved to Arizona in 1951 from Columbus, Ohio. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, the American Legion and the VFW in Prescott. He is survived by his wife, Ann of Prescott; a step-son, Tim Frew of Jacksonville, Fla.; a daughter, Lee Marcacci of Alto Loma, Calif.; a step-daughter, Kimm Kosler of Palo Verde, Calif.; three brothers, Adam, Lewis and Fred, all of Lowell, Mass.; a sister, Helen Bogochow of Lowell, Mass.; and three grandchildren. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home, where a rosary will be said at 7 p.m. The Mass of the Resurrection will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Church, with Father Salvatore Bonano officiating. The family suggests contributions to Catholic Social Services, 116 N. Summit Ave., Prescott, 86301, or to the Hospice of Prescott, 205 N. Cortez St., Prescott, 86301. |
