Arizona Republic (Phoenix, Arizona) Wednesday, October 23, 1985 Body identified as missing teen-ager's PARKER--A body found earlier this month near Salome has been identified as that of a missing Phoenix teen-ager who had been shot, a La Paz County sheriff's official said Tuesday. Sheriff's Lt. Mike Neuman said a fingerprint comparison led to positive identification of 17-year-old George M. Bender II. Bender's body was found Oct. 1, wrapped in a sleeping bag in a roadside wash just southeast of Salome. Neuman said Bender had been reported missing July 10 by relatives after he failed to return from a June vacation in Los Angeles. Neuman said deputies want to question two unidentified men who accompanied Bender on that trip. Their whereabouts is unknown, he said. |
