Mary "Phyllis" Gallagher

Mary "Phyllis" Gallagher, 92, of Sterling, Colo., passed away on May 3,
2024 with her family present, Mary was born on April 11, 1932 in
Columbus, OH. Her family moved to Phoenix in 1950 and she lived there
until the 1980's when she moved to Wickenburg. In 2021, she moved to
Sterling with her daughter and son-in-law when they retired.

Mary was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 12 in
Wickenburg for 38 years and held the position of President. Mary was
also a member of the BPOE Elks Lodge #2160, Wickenburg for 27 years.
Mary started as Inner Guard and rose through the Chairs. She was the
first female Exalted Ruler in that Lodge. She was also a 5 year Trustee,
Vice Chairman in the West District for Public Relations and the District
Chairman for the AZ Elks News.

Mary was very involved in the Lodge including Hoop Shoot, Veterans
Affairs, and the yearly Children's Xmas Shopping Spree and Xmas party.
She spent many, many hours volunteering at the Lodge.

Mary is survived by to children: her son Charles and his wife Christie
Gallagher of McKinney, Texas; and her daughter Stephanie and her husband
Erick Grissel of Sterling. She has three grandchildren: Patrick Clarke
of California; Christopher Lisberg and his wife Sharon of Denver; and
Kelsi Gallagher of McKinney, Texas. She also has three great-
grandchildren: Grace and Theodore Lisberg of Denver.

Memorial Mass was held on Monday, May 20, 2024 at 10 a.m. at St.
Anthony's Catholic Church, 326 S. 3rd St., Sterling, Colorado. In lieu
of flowers you can donate to the Elks National Foundation at
