Born on September 8, 1931 in Benton Harbor, MI. Jim served honorably in the United States Coast Guard from 1959 to 1963, a period during which he contributed significantly to his unit's operations. After his military service, he transitioned to a civilian career as a Pressman in Monrovia, CA, where he worked for approximately 15 years. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to Palm Springs, where he established a successful business in the burgeoning field of heart rate monitors before retiring in Lake Havasu. Education played a pivotal role in Jim's life. He was a proud alumnus of Pasadena City College, which laid the foundation for his diverse career paths. Jim found great joy on the golf course, a passion that saw him and a group of close friends traveling by motor homes to various golf courses across the country. His love for the sport was only matched by his commitment to his faith. He was a regular at Desert Hills Lutheran Church in Green Valley, where he enjoyed the Southern Gospel services on Saturday afternoon. Jim leaves behind his beloved wife, Vivian, daughter Gay Lin Gibson Chambers, three sons, four grandchildren, three nephews, and one niece. He was predeceased by his parents, Louise Metsker Gibson and David Gibson, and his brother, David. |
