| Janis Carol Berssenbruegge, 66, of Chandler, AZ passed away on July 23, 2014. Jan is survived by her father, Bill Berssenbruegge; older sister, Kay Price; twin sister, Lois Granger (Al) and younger sister, Sue Garcia (Sam). Her mother, Helen Berssenbruegge, is deceased. She was born in Cincinnati, OH, spent much of her childhood in Riverside, CA, then moved to Tempe, AZ in 1961. Jan graduated from Tempe High School in 1965. She obtained a special education degree from Arizona State University in 1969. With her degree, she was able to make a difference in the lives of many students. In 1983 she joined the sorority, ESA, the Alpha Kappa chapter, serving the community. Jan traveled extensively, visiting Mexico, Canada, the Caribbean, Russia, Hawaii, Alaska and all over the US. She hiked to the bottom of the Grand Canyon many times, with her family. Jan was the loving and dedicated mother of three daughters who will forever cherish her: Juli Wallentinson Lonas (Shawn); Lisa Wallentinson Gilbert (Keith); and Lynn Wallentinson Poston (James). She was treasured by her grandchildren: Ethan (deceased), Luke, Joy, and Leah Lonas; Carter, Brianna, and Claire Gilbert; and Emily White & Savannah Poston. She maintained a positive attitude and strong faith throughout her battle with cancer. |
