Jack R. Hammond, 79, passed away at UMC Hospital in Las Vegas on Sept.
12, 2024. He was born to Robert and Marjorie Hammond in Upland,
California.

Jack married his high school sweetheart, Sharon Elizabeth in 1963 and
had 3 sons, John, Tim and Sam. In 1966 he, mom and dad and brother Gerry
formed Romar Roofing where he was pretty proud to drive and deliver
roofing products even when the old school truck he drove didn't have
brakes or tail lights.

He decided selling roofing products was better than driving switching to
sales. Jack met most of his good friends along the way as a salesman for
many companies including Oldcastle, Westile, ABC Supply and R & S
Roofing. Jack bought his home across the lake to enjoy his love of
boating, drinking and good times while commuting from California to Lake
Havasu, AZ eventually making the move permanent. He moved to Las Vegas
staying in the roofing industry later moving into the landscape rock
supply business working for Sunworld Landscape and Impact Sand & Gravel.

Jack missed Lake Havasu City deciding to make his final move back to the
river where he met and married his second wife, Julie, in 2019. Never
losing his love of sales he worked for A & R Rock Products selling
landscape products later in life. He was passionate and good at every
sport he played including Little League, racquetball and golf. He loved
old cars, old movies, baseball, football, westerns, Gunsmoke, John
Wayne, guns cold Coors Beer and Kettle One Vodka.

Jack leaves behind his beloved wife Julie, his sons John, Tim, Sam,
brother Gerry, stepbrother Larry, his six grandchildren and seven great-
grandchildren.

He was known to most of his good friends as Captain Jack but all his
friends know he was a one of a kind smart, funny and someone you could
come to for advise who touched each of their lives with laughter,
stories and joy of living.

Lets Have "One More For the Ditch" he would say!. He will truly be
missed by us all.+ forever live in our heart.
