Published by Today's News Herald on Dec. 22, 2024 - Lake Havasu City, Arizona - Sandra "Sandy" Lee Masterson Spieth Sandra "Sandy" Lee Masterson (née Spieth), born on March 21, 1945, in Ashtabula, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her home in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, on December 5, 2024, at the age of 79, after a courageous battle with multiple myeloma. Sandy was the beloved wife of James Masterson, with whom she shared 54 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life centered on love and family. She was the devoted mother of Jennifer Rindone (Raymond) of San Marino and Michael Masterson (Ashley) of Yorba Linda. Sandy cherished her role as grandmother to Andrew Rindone and Katelyn & Matthew Masterson. She is also survived by her nephews and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Sandy was predeceased by her parents, Charles W. Spieth and Margaret Spieth, as well as her sister, Joan Spieth Camp. Raised in Ashtabula, Ohio, Sandy later lived in Yorba Linda before retiring to Lake Havasu City. She dedicated much of her career to healthcare, working at Queen of the Valley Hospital in West Covina, Tustin Hospital, and Tustin Rehabilitation Hospital. Sandy's warmth and compassion touched countless lives during her years of service. Sandy found immense joy in spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Known for her kindness, radiant smile, and selflessness she brought light to everyone around her. She loved basking in the warmth of the sun and will forever be remembered as a ray of sunshine herself. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on January 15, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Santa Clara de Asis Catholic Church, 22005 Avenida de la Paz, Yorba Linda, CA 92887, with reception to follow. Interment will take place privately for family on December 20, 2024, at Riverside National Cemetery.
