John A. Bartel was born December 17th, 1968, in Mitchell, South Dakota
to predeceased Ruth and Leonard Bartel. John married his high school
sweetheart, Dawn, on June 4th, 1988 in Mitchell, South Dakota. They
shared 36 and a half wonderful years together and raised two children,
Trevor and Hayley.

John was an alumni of Emery High School where he played basketball,
football, and track and participated in numerous other school
activities. He graduated college from Dakota Wesleyan University where
he earned a Business Administration degree. He worked as a manager at
Domino's Pizza through college followed by several manager positions
after college before settling down in a career in the mortgage business
for over thirty years. In more recent years, he qualified for his real-
tors license.

After graduating college in South Dakota, John spent 10 years in
Colorado followed by a move to Lake Havasu in 2002 where he resided
until the end.

John is known for his passion for the Nebraska football team, coaching
football for his son's Pop Warner team, and spending time on the boat
with his family and friends. He is known for his fierce loyalty to his
friends, lending him to make many lifelong friends. He was known for his
witty sarcasm and ability to always make a joke.

John's faith was deepened by attending Camp Freedom in 2018. He was
baptized at Rotary Beach that summer and began attending church
regularly with his wife and volunteering as part of the security team.
He also became one of the initial leaders of the Celebrate Recovery
meetings at his church.

John is survived by his loving wife, Dawn Bartel, and his children,
Trevor and Hayley Bartel. He also leaves behind his brothers, Clyde (and
his wife Dawn) and Dale (and his wife Linda), along with his nieces,
Susanne and Autumn, and nephews, Marc, Charlie, and Jared. Additionally,
John is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Danielle and Randy
Weber, and their children, Jocelyn and Christopher.

Thankfully John now rests peacefully and free of the pain in life and in
God's loving care, forever and always.
