Published by Mohave Daily News Online on Apr. 11, 2025 - Bullhead City, Arizona - Robert William "Bob" Schoonover, Jr. passed away at the age of 81 on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at St. Jude’s Hospital in Fullerton, California, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born on June 30, 1943, Bob was a man who embraced adventure and lived life to the fullest. Bob began his career as a truck driver at the age of 19 and was celebrated for his commitment to safety, earning the Two Million Mile Award from JB Hunt before retiring. He later joined the City of Bullhead City's Park department, where he took great pride in maintaining the city parks. An active member of the Colorado River Corvette Club, Bob served as Sergeant-at-arms and cherished the camaraderie and adventures it brought into his life. His hobbies included working out daily at the gym, off- roading and rock climbing in his Jeep, shooting, traveling with friends, and most importantly, spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Idalee L. Wheeler and Robert William Schoonover; and his wife, Janet M. Vickery. Bob is survived by, his ex-wives Annette Schoonover and Jo Ann Doxikas; brother Paul Schoonover and his wife Ellen; his daughter, Devon Pulfer (Joe); son, Jason Schoonover (Nancy); granddaughter Baylee Pulfer; grandsons Christian Wisniewski (Mandy), and Jacob Pulfer (Kailee); three great-grandsons, Kingston, Maddox, and Knox; and his Angel Debbie Hendren. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at 11 am at Don Sullivan Park in Rotary Park at the fire pit. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Colorado River Corvette Club, c/o Bob Beynon, 2879 Swirl Drive, Lake Havasu, AZ 86404, honoring Bob's passion and involvement. |
