Danny Lee Stowell, age 74, of Lake Havasu City, passed away peacefully
on April 19, 2025 with his family by his side. He was born on November
21, 1950 in Oakland, California, the son of Samuel Stowell and Patricia
Davis. He enlisted at the age of 17 into the Army and proudly served
from December 13, 1967 to May 18, 1970 and was stationed in Vietnam as a
helicopter gunrunner and drove tanks in Germany as an E5 Specialist.

After his enlistment, he moved to Westwood, CA where he became an
integral part of the community. He began his 42-year law enforcement
career in 1972 in Lassen County, California. His career consisted as
serving as the Fire Chief for Westwood Fire Department, Reserved Deputy
Sheriff for Lassen County, employed at the California Correctional
Center (CCC) in Susanville. After retirement from the CCC, he went on to
serve as the Chief of Judicial Protection for Lassen County Superior
Court from 1999 to 2013 and Security Surveillance for Diamond Mountain
Casino from 2013 to 2018.

Danny had a great love of fishing, hunting and all sports. He traveled
and participated in the Bass Pro circuits in California, coached
football, baseball and softball for 20 years at Westwood High School,
and played golf and softball. He married Barbara on November 1, 1999. In
March of 2018, they decided to retire and to move to Lake Havasu City,
AZ where they had visited family for 25 years. He wanted to live some-
where where the weather suited his clothes and could golf and fish year-
round.

Danny was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by
his loving wife of 25 years, Barbara Stowell, of Lake Havasu City, AZ;
his three children, Buffy (Scott) Bennett of Ontario, OR, Mark Ward of
Reno, NV and Kevin (Heather) Ward of Abilene, TX; seven granddaughters
Karlie, Bella, Kinzie, Aryn, Beth, Emily and Willow; and sisters Shirlee
Roper of San Pablo, CA, and Sandra Helsel of Susanville, CA; sister-in
law, Lou Gott of Lake Orion, MI. and numerous nieces and nephews. A
Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
