Thomas Bryant Succumbs To Stroke Less than two weeks after suffering a paralytic attack, Thomas Bryant, 48, (better known to his friends as Jazzbo), died in the Veterans’ hospital last Tuesday. Mr. Bryant, who was stricken about two weeks ago at the home of his sister, Mrs. Odelia Mullen, 1122 East Washington, was rushed to the hospital but died without regaining consciousness. He came to Phoenix from El Paso about 35 years ago with Mrs. Mullen who reared him. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Besides Mrs. Mullen, he is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Annie Mae Thornton, Los Angeles; Miss Maggie Bryant, Fresno, Calif., and one brother, Sam Bryant of Stockton, Calif. Funeral services will be held tomorrow (Saturday) morning at 11 o’clock at Ragsdale Chapel in the Valley. The Rev. L. B. Nelson will officiate. The Virgil Bell Post, 1710, will be in charge of burial. Arizona Sun October 10, 1952 |
