Wickenburg Funeral Home Wickenburg, Arizona www.wickenburgfuneralhome.com Robert (Bob) Joseph Capraro Sr. (April 27, 1946 - April 10, 2025) He was born April 27, 1946 to Eva Boucher and GG Capraro. He was raised by the orphanage and foster care system of Rhode Island. He would go on to become the youngest senior house parent in that same orphanage--a testament to the strength of his character and the size of his heart. He then proudly worked for the Rhode Island state prison system. He gave back to a system that so often fails. He and his beloved wife Carol, who left for Heaven in 2016 raised 27 foster children along with six kids of their own. Bob was a volunteer at the CAP office and Soroptimist. He was known as a friendly volunteer, always with a story to tell and a hand to lend. To his children Cindy Peck, Sandi Barnes, Terri Grimm, Donna Flanegan, Robert Capraro Jr. and Jamie Capraro (both graduates of Wickenburg High School), he was our Dad. He was our teacher, our mentor, and a disciplinarian when needed. He will be sorely missed by those who loved him: his friends, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was a man who left the world better than he found it, and those who knew him were lucky to have done so. God took him home peacefully on April 10, 2025 after a courageous fight with lung cancer and COPD. He joined his beautiful wife Carol in Heaven as well as his sister and childhood confidant Marie. Also preceding him in death were his parents and siblings Lee and John. We will have a Celebration of Life on his birthday, April 27, 2025, at the Wickenburg Funeral Home, 187 N. Adams at 2:30 PM. All are welcome. "Dad requested this will be a celebration where no one should wear black." In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org an organization Bob has donated to for many years. |
