David Brusby, age 81, a thirty year resident of Bullhead City / Fort
Mohave, Arizona passed away Monday, March 10, 2025.

David was born in Providence, Rhode Island February 9, 1944. Two-year
old David and his mother traveled by train to join his father, stationed
in California near the end of WWII. The family stayed in California
after the war. David was raised in Baldwin Park, California during the
best of times and graduated from Baldwin Park High School in 1961. He
started college but that moved too slowly for him. David was an anxious
young man ready to take on the world.

David married Golden Overlin, on February of 1965 and had two children,
Douglas and Jeffrey. David began his long history of public service with
the city of El Monte, California in 1965 as a Law Enforcement Officer,
and eventually transferred to the Los Angeles Sheriffs Department.

David loved all aspects of aviation. He earned his fixed wing pilots
license and helicopter license on the same day. In 1972 he began flying
helicopters for the Los Angeles County Sheriffs AERO Bureau. For 12
years he flew the skies of Los Angeles, loving every minute of it. After
making sergeant he regrettably had to leave the AERO bureau, but always
enjoyed his new assignments. David retired with 20 years in the
department in 1989. He frequently said he had the best job in the world.

Following his retirement in 1989 he moved to Bullhead City, Arizona.
Feeling too young to retire at the age of 49, Dave received his
contractors license and began his own business , cleverly named Sherlock
Homes. Dave would frequently say that he was a "better builder than a
business man."

He gave up construction after a few years and went to work in Security
at the Pioneer Casino in Laughlin, Nevada, then shortly after answered
to an ad work for the Mohave Community College. He became the Facilities
Manager for the Bullhead City Campus. He remained there for 10 years
eventually becoming Facilities Director before retiring again this time
being for real.

Throughout David's life he has enjoyed volunteering on many Boards. He
served on home association boards and his Lindo Mar Timeshare Board in
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. He served on three church boards in his
lifetime. Upon his death he served as President of Community Lutheran
Church Board and as a member of the Ft Mohave Mesa Fire Board.

David led a full life of service to the communities in which he lived.
He was an honorable man that could be counted on. He was a big man with
a big heart and kind soul. He was a presence when he walked into a room.
He was a quiet man that let his hair down in his beloved Puerto
Vallarta. He was interested in people and places and loved to travel. He
had a wonderful sense of humor and an artistic flair. There wasn't
enough time in his life to do all he would have liked to do, however;
Dave said many times "If I die tomorrow I have no regrets. I've lived a
blessed life. I had the best jobs, two wonderful boys and grandchildren,
I have traveled to many wonderful places in the world, and have the love
of my life by my side for the rest of my days. Lord, I'm ready for you
to take me in your own good time." David walked into the loving arms of
Jesus on March 10, 2025 at 9:27 PM.

David is survived by his first wife, of over 30 years, Goldie, his
second wife, of 29 years, Susan, his sons Douglas (Kelly) and Jeffrey
(Ladonna; his brother, Larry (Connie); two sisters, Norma (George) and
Esther; four grandchildren, Marissa, Jared (Jessica), Amanda and
Cameron; and two great-grandchildren, Hazel and Sawyer. He is also
survived by Susan's two children, three living grandchildren, three
great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at the
Community Lutheran Church, 2275 Ricca Rd. Bullhead City, Arizona. A
light luncheon will follow. All who loved Dave are welcome.
