KIMBERLEE ANN NELSON-HASSEY

Kim Hassey, age 68, a resident of Bullhead City, Arizona, passed away on
Sunday, April 25, 2025 after a courageous fight against Progressive
Supranuclear Palsy - never losing her sense of humor. Kim was born
October 27, 1956 in Anchorage, Alaska, the eldest of four sisters.

Kim loved animals her entire life and had quite a menagerie as a
teenager. Over the years, she always had at least two dogs - a few cats
and birds - and a period with a small goat farm and milk cow. Her
initial job and career followed this love - starting out as a dog
groomer and then going to school in Wyoming to become a Veterinary
Technician - a position she enjoyed for 12 years in New Mexico. She also
volunteered as a 4H leader in Veterinary Science at one point.

Upon moving to Bullhead City in 1989, her career trajectory changed. She
initially worked with Animal Control as a License Canvasser, which led
to her final career as a 911 Dispatcher for 17 years, which she found
very fulfilling. During this time she also volunteered at Keepers of the
Wild Animal Sanctuary for several years.

Kim was an avid reader with an intense curiosity. She was part of the
Dungeons and Dragons gaming groups when they began and was also a (Star)
"Trekkie". She enjoyed walking her dogs, spending time on the lake with
her husband, visiting family, collecting Breyer horses, gardening,
drawing, beading, music, traveling and hiking.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Kim is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Darryl; three
sisters, Robin (Jim), Karla (Jim) and Terri; sisters-in-law, Penny and
Susan; brothers-in-law, David and Frank; two stepsons, Kenny and Dale;
several step-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews; and her last
fur baby, Maya.

Rest in Peace Kim, you lived an amazing life
and will be greatly missed!

A special thank you to Canyon Hospice for their compassionate care over
the last two years.
