Lowell W. Fortney, 71, of Cornville died July 17, 2002. He was born July 3, 1931 in Oskaloosa, Iowa.

He retired from IBEW Local 769 in Phoenix.

He was veteran of the United States Air Force and was a member of the American Legion and The Veterans of Foreign Wars, both in Cottonwood.

He leaves his daughter, Linda Miller, Cornville; sons, Jeffey Fortney, Stillwater, Ok. and Tim Fortney of Eldon, Ia.; sister, Martha Meinders, Ottumwa, Ia.; brothers, Buck Fortney and Bob Fortney, both of Oskaloosa, Ia.; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

There are no public services planned.

Donations in his memory may be made to the Northern Arizona Hospice, 269 S. Candy Lane, Cottonwood, Ariz,. 86326.
