Sharon Starks passed peacefully at home on June 5th, 2025.

She was born in Monterey Park, California, on June 15, 1942 to John and
Mary Johnson who along with her brother, Wayne, predeceased her.

Sharon began her lifetime love story with Gene Starks when she began
babysitting for his younger siblings. Sharon was an excellent student
but was frequently asked to leave her high school classes not because of
her behavior, but because of the behavior of the man to earn her heart.
When she asked the teachers why, they would tell her he needed to be in
class more.

After high school Sharon received her AA from Santa Rosa junior college
and became a well respected paralegal. Gene and Sharon were then married
in 1963 recently sharing their 62nd wedding anniversary. They made their
way all over California where Gene worked for CalFIRE. No matter where
they went, they did it together and made friends wherever they went.

Throughout her life, she was dedicated to serving others. She was a
CASA, helped out in classrooms, was on parent committees, served in any
auxiliary related to Gene’s fire fighting career, and supported Moose
charities often chairing and catering their annual fashion show. She
could be seen many a Friday night serving dinner at the Moose lodge with
Gene in the back doing dishes.

Sharon was an avid reader, often reading two and three books at the same
time. She also loved to golf, paint, garden, RV, and collect anything
Smokey Bear, Teddy Bear or chicken related. She and Gene travelled
extensively including a 4 month road trip to Alaska. They also did many
years of work camping in places like Bryce Canyon, the White Mountains,
Ventura, the Las Vegas Motor Speedway and Diamond Lake.

She is survived by her loving husband Gene Starks, her daughter Ty
“Kristin” Morgan, and her three grandchildren Kelly, Connor and Caleb
and numerous nieces and nephews who will miss her more than words can
express.
