It is with deep love and remembrance that we announce the passing of
Sheila Jane (Baumgaertner) Gumerman, born in 1937 in Milwaukee, WI. She
was the beloved daughter of Reverand John and Marcella Baumgaertner.

Sheila's life was marked by compassion, service, and a deep commitment
to others. After graduating high school, she pursued a career in
healthcare, earning her nursing degree and later becoming a nurse
practitioner. Her passion for understanding and helping others also led
her to earn a bachelor's degree in psychology from Southern Illinois
University.

Sheila married her childhood neighbor and lifelong love, George Gumerman
III, son of Josephine and Dr. George Gumerman II. Together, they built a
life centered on family, kindness, and service.

She is lovingly survived by: George Gumerman III, Jan Horner and husband
Jack, George Gumerman IV, Silke Kapela and husband Jeff, Steven Gumerman
Sr. and wife Pamela, Jasmine Otte, George Gumerman V, Steven Gumerman
Jr. Madison Feder and husband Austin, Benjamin Gumerman, andnd last, but
NOT least, Sylvie Otte.

In her later years, Sheila and George made their home in Flagstaff,
Arizona, where Sheila continued her lifelong mission of helping others.
She volunteered with hospice care, helped at the local grade school,
supported the local food bank, and was always ready to assist fellow
residents at The Peaks with a warm smile and a healing hand.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Sherry,
Rebecca, the staff at The Peaks, the Northern Arizona Hospice staff, and
so many others, whose compassionate care and support brought comfort and
dignity to Sheila in her final days.

Sheila was a kind soul who always saw the good in people. Her unwavering
positivity and inspirational spirit touched everyone she met, and she
will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Sheila's name can be made to the Museum
of Northern Arizona.

A celebration of Sheila's life will be held on July 12th from 2 to 5
p.m. at the Peaks, Malpais Room, Flagstaff.
