Published by Today's News Herald on June 22, 2025 - Lake Havasu City, Arizona - Edgar Hawkins Tigert, 91, passed away,10/06/2024, in his home in Lake Havasu, after a long illness. Edgar was born June 01, 1933, in Ontario Canada. He is pre-deceased by his parents Walter and Ihla Tigert, and younger sister Isabel. In 1946 Edgar received a Certificate from the Royal Conservatory of Music, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, after passing his piano exam. He used his gift to play the church organ, and entertain family at special holiday gatherings throughout the years Edgar worked for the Ford Motor Company, London, Ontario, Canada before moving to Lake Havasu City with his wife Mona, and son Troy, in 1977. Edgar worked for the London Bridge Racquet Club, then gained employment with Lake Havasu Water Department. Edgar worked for the city until he retired. After retirement Edgar volunteered at Lake Havasu City Food Bank in the winter months. Spring and summer Ed traveled across the country, and into Southern Ontarip Canada, with his wife Mona, in their RV. Ed enjoyed renovating houses, fishing, boating gardening/landscaping, and he was always willing to lend a helping hand. Edgar Hawkins Tigert is survived by his loving wife Mona Tigert, son Troy Tigert, Missouri, and three children by a previous marriage, Laurie, Kent, and Paul Tigert, Ontario Canada. Stepchildren Brian Fowler (Glenda), Oregon; Lori Fowler-Reiser Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Sister- in-law Emma Fangrad, Ontario Canada. Brother- in- law Johnny McCowan (MaryKaye), Tennessee. Ian McCowan Alberta Canada. Tommy McCowan, Ontario, Canada. Grand-children, Kathi McGee (Darci), Andrew Fowler, Lima Peru, Nicholas Fowler (Tracy) Oregon. Amanda Carol (Joe) Oregon. Christian Reiser, Newfoundland Canada. Michael Reiser, Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Great-grandchildren Owen McGee, Ryan McGee, Ontario, Canada. Clementine Carol, Oregon. Avamay Fowler, Oregon. Liam Reiser, Oz Reiser, Isabelle Bock, Newfoundland Canada. Gabrielle Pascual, Alexa Reiser, and Natalie Reiser, California. Edgar’s request for cremation has taken place. A celebration of life, service will be held at Lietz- Fraze Funeral Home on July 5,2025 at 2PM Messages of condolence for the Tigert family are welcome at lietz- frazefuneralhome.com.
