Published by Today's News Herald on June 22, 2025 - Lake Havasu City, Arizona - (personal article, page 5A) - It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of a beloved husband, brother, and friend, Frank Andrew Emery, affectionately known by his family and friends as Frank. He was born on February 25, 1945, in San Diego, CA, and lived a fulfilling life until his peaceful passing on May 16, 2025. Frank Emery was a man of humble beginnings, who built his life with hard work and devoted service. He was a long-time truck driver for Alta Dena Dairy, until his retirement in 1998. His passion for service, however, extended beyond his professional life. Frank was a proud veteran of the United States Army and became a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) in 1969. He was affiliated with VFW Post 1512 in Spring Valley, California and served on the VFW POST #9401. His dedication to his fellow veterans was unwavering, and his leadership was recognized several times as he served as the Commander of the VFW Post. Frank’s involvement with Arizona District 8. He dedicated several years to the district level, serving as the Voice of Democracy/Patriot Pen Chairman. Furthermore, he was an active member of the post color guard and honor guard for many years and served as the Service Officer since his arrival in Lake Havasu in 2004 "The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others," Mahatma Gandhi once said, and Frank lived this truth every day. Frank made a home in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, with his beloved wife, Patricia "Dallas" Emery, whom he married on Armed Forces Day in 1994, in La Mesa, CA on Mt. Helix. He was a proud family man, and his siblings Jack, Bill, Barbara, Susie will dearly miss him. His daughter Emily, his grandchildren; Ty, Derek, CJ and Kaysee, and numerous friends will always remember his warmth and kindness. His parents, Gordon Emery and Georgina Post, and his daughter, Amy and his sister Joan, preceded him in death. Frank had a fondness for collecting eagles and beer mugs, a testament to his sense of fun and his appreciation for the simple pleasures in life. His favorite spot was his chair at the VFW, known as "Frank's chair", where he enjoyed the company of his fellow veterans and friends. A Celebration of Life for Frank Emery will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at 1:00 pm MST at the Veterans of Foreign Wars, 266 London Bridge Road, Lake Havasu City, Arizona, 86403.
