Published by Mohave Daily News Online on Jul. 16, 2025 - Bullhead City, Arizona - Robert "Bob" Leslie Brown, age 82, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2025 in Bullhead City at his home while he was surrounded by his family. Bob was born July 26, 1942 in Oak Park, Illinois, and was raised in South Pasadena, California all his life going to public school and then onto studying at L.A. State College. He started working at 15 years old as a delivery boy at a Liquor Store and then onto Managing the store at age 22. He later became an import representative for Cruise French Wines and Bottled Liqueurs. He also worked as a claims adjuster for Allstate insurance for 4 years. He served in the California National Guard from 1963 until 1972 and was assigned to Watts in 1965 during the riots. He retired as a First Sergeant in Artillery. Bob met his loving wife Rita in 1964. Within 2 years they were married and living in Arcadia, California. In marrying Rita he gained four children (Sam, Tina, Steve and Kim) whom he adopted in 1968. Bob and The family took lots of family vacations. He loved to show the kids a lot of interesting things in life. He started Apple Construction in Van Nuys, California in 1974 and in 1978 he moved the family and the business to Bullhead City, Arizona. At that time Bullhead City was a nice small town and as time went by, Bob and Apple Construction Built up the city with lots of strip malls, gas stations, lots of garage, awnings and room additions. The family joined the St. Margaret Mary's Catholic Church. With his construction background, he was called upon to do many new things for the church, including the beautiful new church that sits on top of the hill you see now. He joined many organizations in town as he was devoted and pleased to work with for the community. He has been part of the Mohave Valley Contractors Assoc., helped to start the Academy of builders school, Mens club at Desert Lakes Golf club, and a huge part of the Bullhead Kiwanis Club since 1980. He was always very active whether it be with the family functions, traveling around the world to places like South Asia, Europe, Alaska and the Entire United States. They loved going to Williams, AZ where they bought a cabin and did all the traveling to all the great little towns around. Bob was a devoted husband, father, grandfather "Papa/Pops", brother, loyal to anything that he put his heart too. Bob is predeceased by his loving wife, Rita; and his parents, Father Burt (his wife Dorothy); and Mother, Teresa. Bob is survived by his younger sister, Judy Lloyd; brother, Bill Brown; four children, Sam, Tina, Steve and Kim; seven Grandchildren, Crystal, Duke, Brooke, Daniel, Andrew, Jared and Robbie; seven Great- grandchildren, Alyssa, Frank, Dominic, Sophia, Liberty, Zoe and Gracie. Bob's service will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025 at St. Margaret Mary's Catholic Church located at 1691 N. Oatman Rd, Bullhead City, Arizona with church opening at 10:00am, Rosary starting at 10:30am with The service to begin at 11:00am. Following the service there will be a 21 gun salute and Taps with a Reception immediately following with lunch in the Church Hall.
