Weekly Journal-Miner (Prescott, Arizona) Saturday, March 13, 1869, p. 3 Wm. Burnett, who was murdered by Indians at Granite Wash, in this Territory, a short time ago, was a young man of good moral character, and his death is greatly regretted by relatives and friends. He was born in Texas, June 4, 1849, and, in 1853, accompanied his parents to California. He came to this Territory and settled at Walnut Grove, in this county, in June, 1868, and was on his way to California to settle his business there, and return to his home here, when the accursed red fiend's waylaid and murdered him. He leaves a mother (Mrs. Allen Cullumber, of Walnut Grove), four brothers and a sister, to mourn his untimely fate and weep over his loss. |
