Felix Benjamin Ortega
December 31, 1969 ~ July 9, 2025

Felix Benjamin Ortega, age 57, passed away on July 9, 2025, after a battle with diabetes. He was a son, a brother, an uncle, and a father. He was the middle child of three siblings and he grew up in Palmdale, CA, to Felix and Irma Ortega.

Felix attended St. Mary’s School and after graduating from Paraclete High School he lived in Arizona before moving to Florida, where he found many opportunities to work as an independent truck driver. He had a passion for reading and enjoyed music, cooking, and attempted to perfect his grandmother’s red chili sauce for tamales. His life was a mix of living on the edge to seek the thrill of base jumping, motorcycles, and nice cars.

Felix will be deeply missed, but knowing he is at peace and with those that have passed before him, gives his family great comfort. He will be remembered fully and loved always.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Ben Lucero and Eva Ocampo Ortega, Wickenburg pioneers who owned the El Patio Barber Shop and Ortega Trailer Court, and both parents. He is survived by his sister Della, brother-in-law Jim, sister Yvette, brother-in-law Matt, nephew Zachary, niece-in-law Jacqueline, nephew Ben, and his son Daniel and daughter Asia. In addition, he is survived by extended family members from the Ortega, Quesada, Ocampo and Arguelles family, as well as many wonderful friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 10 a.m. with Father Vinhson from St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church at the Garcia Cemetery, on Tegner Street, Wickenburg, AZ. Following the graveside service, the family will host a reception.
