Thomas Robert Gatlin, 82, a resident of Sedona died June 13. He was born March 30, 1922 in Avery, Mississippi.

He was a graduate of Mt. Olive High School in Mt. Olive, Mississippi and was the 1940 valedictorian.

Mr. Gatlin retired after a career in the Air Force. He was a veteran of World War II and served in England, Germany and was a Bronze Star recepient.

He leaves his wife of 53 years, Lily A. Gatlin; daughters, Barbara L. Neuzil, husband Steve, Concho and Jennifer L. Nichols, husband Joel, Cottonwood; sisters, Jo Ella Webb,of Hattiesburg, Miss. and Frances McLeod, Mt.Olive, Miss.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 18 in the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix at Cave Creek at 12:30 p.m.

Donations in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 2929 So. 48th St., Tempe, Ariz., 85282.
