James “Jim” Haldor Roberson, 86, of Kingman, Arizona, passed away
peacefully on August 6, 2025.

Born on May 22, 1939, in Montgomery, Alabama, Jim grew up with a love
for music and a deep devotion to his faith—two passions that shaped his
life’s path. In 1961, he married the love of his life, Betty Carol
Stuart, in Altadena, California, beginning a marriage that would span
more than 64 years.

Jim served in the United States Air Force from 1961 to 1965, stationed
at March Air Force Base in California. He went on to build a career as a
salesman for Montgomery Ward department store, where he worked for 20
years. He and Betty raised their daughter and son in California and
Oregon, nurturing a home filled with love, laughter, and surrounded by
faith in God.

A lifelong member of the Church of the Nazarene, Jim dedicated himself
to serving as minister of music for several congregations, sharing his
talents on piano, guitar, and other instruments. His music was always an
offering of praise and a way to inspire others in their worship.

In 2000, Jim and Betty moved to Kingman, Arizona, where he worked as a
grocery clerk for Safeway until his retirement in 2020. Retirement
allowed him to deepen his involvement with his local Church of the
Nazarene, contributing to worship services, outreach, and mission
programs, and serving for many years as a board member.

Jim is survived by his wife, Betty Roberson; daughter Christine Peine
and her husband, Les; son Bryan Roberson and his partner, Anna Chavez;
and five beloved grandchildren. His steadfast faith, gentle spirit, and
joyful music will be remembered by all who knew him.
