Richard Neil Ray Born in Jerome, Arizona on April 22, 1919. Departed on March 19, 2004 and resided in Cottonwood, Arizona. Richard N. Ray, 84, of Cornville died March 19, 2004. He was born April 22, 1919 in Jerome, Arizona to Milton J. & Myrtle C. (Slade) Ray. Mr. Ray was retired from the State of Arizona where he worked with the Fish and Game Department. He also had worked as a cook for the Verde Valley School in Sedona. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and music. Mr. Ray is survived by sons, Ronnie Ray, Globe, Ariz., Ed Johnston, Flagstaff, Ariz. and Chuck Johnston, Mesa, Ariz.; five brothers; five sisters; eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, March 27 at the American Legion Post in Cottonwood at 11 a.m. Friends and family are encouraged to bring musical instruments.
