Phoenician Dies In East About two weeks after leaving Phoenix, death came to Enoch (Nick) Anderson, last Sunday in Indianapolis, Indiana. Mr. Anderson became ill here about 2 months ago and after recovering sufficiently to travel, was sent home to his mother by his many friends and lodge brothers. Being both an Elk and a Mason, his departure was conspicuous by the crowd which gathered at the train to bid him farewell. The two lodges and other friends saw to it that nothing was lacking for his comfort. He had a private room and a nurse, on his trip back home. Nick as he was best known, came to Phoenix about 1933 having operated a shoe-shine stand near First Street and Washington most of the time since then. The funeral will be conducted Sunday by the Palestine Lodge No. 7 of Masons. Arizona Sun November 4, 1955 |
