James "Tex" Osborn A memorial service was held Saturday, Aug. 3, 2002, at the San Manuel First Baptist Church for James "Tex" Osborn, 71, of San Manuel. He passed away July 19, 2002, in Tucson. He was born July 19, 1931, in Brice, Texas, to Duke and Nell Osborn and was the fourth of five children and the youngest boy. A resident of San Manuel for 37 years, he was a craneman for Magma Copper Company for 30 years. He married Oleta Robertson Dec. 15, 1950, in Memphis, TX and they shared 50 years together. He was the number one Atlanta Braves fan and loved baseball, particularly watching his grandchildren and their friends little league games. He also loved fishing, golf and his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. He is preceded in death by his wife, Oleta; a son, James Stephen and brothers, Earl and Charles. He is survived by his sons, Jeff (Shawn) Osborn, of Oracle and Jay (Susie) Osborn, of Sahuarita; daughter, Jame (John) Cole, of San Manuel; sisters, Nellie and Dixie, both of Lakeview, TX and seven grandchildren. Services were held July 25 at Hughes Funeral Home in Memphis, TX with Pastor Tom Posey officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be sent to Fairview Cemetery Association, P.O.
