Published by Today's News Herald on August 27, 2025 - Lake Havasu City, Arizona - Marlene Joannes Dunlap (Saddler), age 84, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2025, in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, with her family at her side. Born on October 27, 1940, in Portland, Oregon, Marlene was the daughter of Walter Saddler and Margaret Schroth. She grew up in Portland alongside her brother Donald Saddler and carried the warmth of her upbringing and her faith throughout her life. Marlene was known for her friendly and upbeat nature. Her joyful spirit left a lasting impression on those around her. Family was always at the heart of everything she did, and she cherished the time spent with loved ones. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald L. Nielsen, Sr., and later by her second husband E. James Dunlap. Despite these losses, Marlene remained a source of strength and positivity for those who knew her. She is lovingly remembered by her son, Donald Nielsen of Earlington, Kentucky; and her son, Timothy Dunlap of Las Vegas, Nevada; her daughter, Sharlene Erickson of Lake Havasu City, Arizona; and her stepdaughter, Sany Dunlap of Portland, Oregon. A memorial service will be held at the Willamette Cemetery in Portland, Oregon at a future date for close family and friends. There, Marlene will be laid to rest beside her beloved second husband, E. James Dunlap. Marlene's joyful presence and unwavering love for those around her will be deeply missed. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her. |
