Newton Dillard Succumbs to Illness After a few days illness Mr. Newton Dillard, 88 died at a local hospital Wednesday night. He became ill Sunday night and was taken to the hospital Wednesday, the day of his death. Mr. Dillard and family came to Phoenix 27 years ago from Como, Mississippi and has lived at 1522 East Monroe Street ever since. For many years after coming to Phoenix he operated a hucksters wagon. He was a member of the First Colored Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Martha E. Dillard, one daughter, Mrs. Sadie Barnum of Los Angeles, four brothers arid two sisters, all living in the East. Funeral arrangements pending arrival of his daughter. Body at Ragsdale Mortuary.
