| MAN KILLED IN AUTO WRECK NEAR NOGALES Arthur Dye; 25, of Tucson, is dead, and his brother, Edgar Dye, 28, also of Tucson, lies severely injured in a local hospital, as a result of a light coupe, driven by the former, turning over about 6:30 o’clock Sunday evening one and one half miles beyond the end of the pavement on the Tucson road north of Nogales. Edgar, in a statement made to a representative of the Nogales International at the hospital Sunday evening, said the accident was a result of driving too fast, his brother having lost control of the car. “Just after we had reached the end of the paved stretch I told my brother to slow down. About that time the car began swerving and turned over”, said Edgar, who was knocked unconscious and sustained painful injuries to his head and back. Arthur Dye was picked up by Henry Lee of Amado, a passing motorist, and died in Lee’s car while being brought to the local hospital. The dead man was unmarried and had been employed at the Tucson Public Market the past six years. The injured man has a wife and child residing at 238 E. 12th St., Tucson. The mother of the two young men is also a resident of Tucson. Nogales International January 28, 1930 |
