Death Calls J. A. Jackson At Home Here Funeral services for James Arden Jackson, 66, well known Rotarian and Mason, were held Tuesday afternoon at 4:30 at Carroon Mortuary Chapel. Rev. O. A. Smith officiated at the rites. The Masonic Lodge, No. 11, F. A.M. had charge of the graveside rites. Mr. Jackson, Dodge dealer here for many years, died Sunday afternoon at his Crawford street home after an illness of several weeks. He had a wide friendship on both sides of the border. Mr. Jackson came to Nogales and Arizona in 1909. Born in Ogden, Utah, he accompanied his parents, Mr. arid Mrs. James Taylor Jackson, to Guadalajara, Jalisco, when he was a child. He returned to Mexico from Nogales and for a time engaged in ranching and growing. Later he was connected with the Southern Pacific of Mexico railroad for a number of years. He disposed of most of his Mexican holdings and returned to Nogales with his wife, the late Eva Chittenden Jackson, who died about two years ago. He became interested in the automobile business and was the Dodge dealer here until he disposed of his business about a year ago. Surviving him are two sisters, Mrs. J. D. Thornhill and Mrs. Fred Barnhouse of San Antonio, and one brother, William C. Jackson of Fort Worth, Texas. Nogales International September 14, 1951 |
