| Former Citizen Of Texas Dies After Operation Wm. Clyde Marquis, 29, died at 7:15 o’clock last Monday night at the hospital in Florence following an operation for appendicitis on Nov. 23. The funeral occurred at the chapel of the Martin Mortuary at Florence at 10 o’clock Wednesday morning, conducted by the Rev. Glenn E. Smiley. Interment was made in the Florence Cemetery. The deceased was born at Ranger, Texas, in 1907, and came to Coolidge in 1935. He is survived by the widow, May Lavender Marquis, two young daughters, father and mother, four brothers, E. A. Marquis of Lubbock, Texas, J. F. Marquis of Aspermont, Tex.; Terrell Marquis, of Coolidge, and Olin Marquis of Lubbock, and a sister, Mrs. Lucy Woods of New Mexico. While residing in this community Marquis was employed on the Harvey Davidson ranch. The Coolidge Examiner December 3, 1936 |
