Mable Aileen (Ritchie) Henley

COOLIDGE - Mable Aileen (Ritchie) Henley, 92, died Sept. 2, 2008 in Mesa.

Visitation followed by funeral was at Simes Mortuaries Coolidge Chapel. Burial beside her husband in Valley Memorial Park.

Mrs. Henley was born Oct. 1, 1915 in Eufaula, Okla. She moved to Arizona from Oklahoma in 1936 and settled in Coolidge in 1949. She attended the Assembly of God as long as her health would allow and later Scottsdale First Church of the Nazarene with her daughter. She was very active in church work. She made quilts and was a master jelly and jam maker, farmer, her husband's bookkeeper and a cook. She picked cotton years ago and helped her husband board horses and raise cattle, sheep and other livestock.

She and her husband raised six children and adopted and raised one grandson. Survivors include six daughters and sons, Robert Henley of Cottonwood, Calif., Billy Henley, Roy Henley and Roberta Bishop of Kingman, Patsy Jeffries-Augustine of Mesa and Scott Henley of Coolidge; 31 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer J., and a daughter, Betty J. Henley-Stimiling.
