Manuel E. Jones Buried With Military Honors-Blackwater
Funeral services with military honors were held for Manuel E. Jones, 23, Pima Indian, at
Blackwater Friday afternoon. Jones died January 8th as the result of an automobile accident In
Tacoma, Washington, where he was serving with Company P-116th Medical Corps. His body
was shipped to Biackwater for burial, accompanied by Corporal Kenneth M O'Donnel as military
escort.
Reverend George Walker officiated at the rites in Biackwater Presbyterian Church, which were
followed at Biackwater Cemetery with a military burial in which members of Coolidge American
Legion and soldiers stationed here performed military rites and sounded taps above the grave.
Jones Is survived by two sisters and an uncle, who live at Blackwater.
