| Published by Yuma Sun on Nov. 12, 2025 - Yuma, Arizona - Jimmy R. Hernandez, age 69, of Fontana, California, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2025. He was born on October 31, 1956, and was known for his deep love of family and the outdoors. A graduate of Kofa High School, Jimmy built a life defined by hard work, dedication, and a strong sense of community. He enjoyed a long and accomplished career as a master mechanic for Nelson Neutraceutical and Oscar Mayer and was a proud member of the Operating Engineers Local 501. Jimmy is survived by his beloved wife, Marla; daughters, Sarah Saldana and Tarah Hernandez; and son, Jimmy Lee ( Joy). He is also survived by his mother, Maria Hernandez; brother, Ramiro (Ruth); sister, Letty Klar (Tim); and grandchildren: Anthony, Carlos, Evan, Ethan, Lucas, Caralina, Eveline, and Sophia. He was preceded in death by his father, Lupe Hernandez; sister, Lisa Marie; and brother, Gus. Throughout his life, Jimmy was a fun-loving, sociable, and generous man who found joy in the great outdoors. An avid hunter and outdoorsman, he was also a skilled hunting guide and gunsmith sharing his knowledge and passion for nature with many. Jimmy will be remembered for his love of family, his kindness, laughter, and the countless adventures he led in the wild. In accordance with his wishes, no services will be held.
