| Published by Today's News Herald on Nov. 28, 2025 - Lake Havasu City, Arizona - (personal article, page A7) It is great sadness we announce the passing of beloved wife, mother, sister and friend Debra Ann Porte who died peacefully at her home on October 19th surrounded by her loving family. She was 65 years old. Debra passed away due to extended battle with metastasized breast Cancer from 25 years prior, she gallantly fought disease for 2nd time for over the past 5 years. Debra was easy to recognize with her colorful bandanas which she wore like a badge of honor, whether it was at the bowling alley, a local restaurant or out on the lake – you knew it was her. Debra was born to parents George Edward Campbell and Elna (Casey) Jorgenson Campbell on December 20, 1959, in Lakewood California. Debra grew up in Buena Park California, where she attended Dickerson elementary school, Apollo Jr. High School and Cypress High School, graduating 1978. Debra began her carrier journey at McDonald Douglas in Long Beach CA, in 1987 she entered the electrical wholesale business with AMFAC Electric Supply, Anaheim CA as an administrator, she then moved to project management duties at California Electric Supply Long Beach CA and GE Supply Co. Brea CA until 2002. She was known for her diligence and expertise in large construction project management which required organizational skills to help electrical contractors manage materials on long term projects. Debra met her husband Pete while working at GE Supply Company in Brea California in 1994, They were married at Knotts Berry Farm, Buena Park CA on August 26th, 1995. They resided in Diamond Bar California from 1995 to 2004 while both working for GE Supply Co. Their children were born in St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton CA, Max in April 1996 and Delaney in March 1998. They were married for 30 years. In October of 2004 they moved to Lake Havasu City AZ to start a new life where they were closer to Debra’s mother & father (George-Grandpa and Casey-Grandma), Sister Teri, Nephew Austin and Aunt Edna. Upon moving to Lake Havasu Debra opened a store in the English Village near the London Bridge called Bridgewater Casual Wear selling clothing and souvenirs. Upon closing the store in 2007 she continued to sell her infamous soft cushion sandals online for several years thereafter, eventually closing that so she could continue focusing on her family. Debra contributed to the community in many ways, including president of her school PTA, working as an election official during voting season, engaging in USBA Bowling Association and Women’s Bowling 500 Club. Debra was incredibly full of life, and you knew immediately when you encountered her in any way – whether it at a GE Corporate outing, School PTA event, USBA event, the bowling alley - or out on the lake just having fun. Whether it was her big smile or her long legs, you knew you met someone special. Debra enjoyed: Boating (going fast on the lake!), Fast Cars, Camping, Coaching Trap Shooting, Cheer Competitions, ATVing in the Desert. Big holidays were special to her – Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas and Birthdays, If you entered her house on any of these holidays, - you knew it. She loved her pets, Georgie, Daphney, Oakie, Mia and Cody… She loved bowling, was in multiple leagues and enjoyed traveling with her bowling teams to regional and national tournaments. More than anything else –she loved being a mother. She was an incredible mother and had profound affect to not only her two children but many more –Austin, Evan, Jack, Tyler, Chris, Reese, Siera, Kylie, Yaz, Bailey, Macy, Selyna Dom and many more. Debra is survived by her husband of 30 years, Pete Porte, Son Maximilian (Max) Porte, (Tempe AZ), Daughter Delaney Porte (Gilbert AZ), Sister Teri Campbell (Cumming GA), Brothers Denis Spude (Cottonwood AZ) and Roger Spude (North Dakota). Debra’s extended family included 18 nieces and nephews; and 14 Grand nieces and nephews Debra was preceded in death by her parents George E. Campbell and Elna (Casey) Campbell Lake Havasu AZ, Aunt Edna Jorgenson, She will be incredibly missed and never be forgotten. There will be a Celebration of Life for Debra in Lake Havasu City AZ on January 10, 2026 @ the London Bridge Resort Convention hall. |
